NFL Betting Predictions: New Orleans Saints vs. Oakland Raiders
Tonight at 8pm Eastern, the New Orleans Saints travel to take on the Oakland Raiders at McAfee Coliseum. BetDSI.eu sportsbook currently has the New Orleans Saints a -220 favorite giving up -4 1/2 points to the Oakland Raiders.
The Oakland Raiders offense has not been good this preseason gaining 10.5 points (30th), 271 total yards (26th), 192 passing yards (20th), and 79 rushing yards (30th). Oakland’s QB’s have not been good at all with Jason Campbell leading the way with 11 completions on 16 attempts for 140 yards 0 TD’s 0 Int’s for a 95.8 QB rating. The only touchdown the Raiders have obtained this whole preseason has come from the hands of QB Trent Edwards who also threw a pick and has a low QB rating of 71.4. Giving up 7 sacks the first two preseason games Raider’s QB’s have been running for their lives.
The Raiders defense is making a strong case in an argument for worst in the league allowing of 20.5 points (22nd), 401 total yards (32nd), 226 passing yards (26th), 174 rushing yards (32nd). The Raiders defense have only accumulated 2 sacks but have interecepted the rock 2 times in their two preseason games.
The New Orleans Saints did not show up to play last week against the Texans , but I think that will change this week against the Raiders. The Saints offense this offseason has posted (per game averages) of 19 points (17th), 309 total yards (19th). Who Dat’s offense has been less than stellar with Drew Brees only completing 8 of 18 passes for 115 yards 0 TD’s 0 Int’s and a bad QB rating of 65.7. I will refrain from talking any further on what the Saints are lacking in offense at the moment as my Aunt Betty is visiting from Louisiana, she said in a stern sweet southern accent ” you be good when ya writing about my Saints now ya hear?” I don’t want to upset her as them ” Who Dat? ” nation fans are crazy let me tell you.
The Saints defense have allowed an average of 15 points per game (10th), 335 total yards (20th), 163 passing yards (4th), and 172 rushing yards (31st). With a secondary that has been stingy the running defense just needs to pick up for the Saints defense to be doing pretty good this preseason, as they have 2 Int’s and 2 forced fumbles.
The Raiders were playing really tough for former Coach Tom Cable, it will remain to be seen if they can play as hard for X’s and O’s man Hue Jackson. The Saints certainly have a few issues with their offense and rush defense they need to address before going into the regular season, but should do enough to beat the Raiders in this one.
