NFL Betting Predictions: New York Giants vs Green Bay Packers
Tomorrow the NFL Divisional Playoffs continue with the New York Giants traveling to take on the defending Super Bowl champions the Green Bay Packers. BetDSI Sportsbook current NFL Betting Lines display the Green Bay Packers -330 favorites giving up 7 1/2 points to the New York Giants.
What a year the Green Bay Packers offense is having, with QB Aaron Rodgers leading the way. On the back of this high powered offense the Packers won 15 games this year. Rodgers threw for 4643 yards, 45 touchdowns to only 6 interceptions for sick 122.5 QB rating. Even QB Matt Flynn had a good year, because in the last week of the regular season he set a franchise record 6 touchdowns passing in a single game. Between runningbacks Ryan Grant 559 yards 2 touchdowns, and James Starks 578 yards 1 TD, the Packers are ranked only 27th in the league rushing. Jordy Nelson had a great year making 68 catches for 1263 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Linebacker Desmond Bishop leads the Packers defense in tackles at 115, also 5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. LB Clay Matthews led the team with only 6 sacks, but the team is better at grabbing interceptions as they have an insane 31 picks on the year. Four different Green Bay players have interceptions which they returned for touchdown, including Charles Woodson who leads the team with 7 INTs.
Eli Manning is having the best year of his career and it has paid off for the hard fought 9-7 New York Giants who are just two games away from the super bowl. Last week in a playoff bout they destroyed the Atlanta Falcons 24-2. Manning threw 23 completions on 32 attempts for 277 yards and 3 touchdowns having a field day. Brandon Jacobs also had a good game on the ground with 14 carries 92 yards. WR Hakeem Nicks shredded the Atlanta defense all day with 6 catches 115 yards and 2 touchdowns one of which 72 yards.
The New York Giants defense was lights out against the Falcons, giving up zero points to their offense. They only allowed 247 total yards, 183 passing, and 64 rushing. New York held Atlanta to 4/14 on third down attempts. DE Jason Pierre-Paul was all over the field leading the team in tackles with 8. DT Rocky Bernard and DE Osi Umenyiora both got to the QB for a sack.
Betting Prediction: It is hard to bet against the Green Bay Packers at home as dominant as they have been playing all year. However the New York Giants are playing great football and definitely could pull off an upset. I look for the Packers to win a close exciting game at home.
