NFL Betting Predictions: New York Jets at Baltimore Ravens

Sunday night at 8:20pm Eastern, the New York Jets get set to play the Baltimore Ravens who will be playing at home. BetDSI sportsbook Live Lines currently have the Ravens as a -3 1/2 point favorites against the traveling Jets.

The Baltimore Ravens offense last week beat the hell out of the St. Louis Rams defense putting up a 37 points, and not letting up all game. QB Joe Flacco looked great throwing 27 completions on 48 attempts for 389 yards and 3 TD’s. RB Ray Rice helped the cause running 9 times for 81 yards, and RB Ricky Williams jumped in as well with 5 rushes for 42 yards ( one going for 28 yards ). Rookie WR Torrey Smith in his first game posted ridiculous numbers of 5 catches for 152 yards and 3 TD’s… wow !

The Ravens defense were as solid as usual, and did not give the Rams much of anything last week. The D allowed the Rams 244 total yards, 112 rushing, and 166 passing yards. The Ravens defense only allowed the Rams to convert just 4 out of 14, 3rd down conversions. Hard to lose when your team is only allowing 7 points and a 28% chance to convert on 3rd for a new set of downs.

The New York Jets offense last week didn’t do enough to beat the Oakland Raiders as they put up 24 points to the Raiders 34. QB Mark Sanchez played well completing 27 out of 44 passes for 2 TD’s and an INT. RB Ladainian Tomlinson showed glimpses of his former self as he rushed 6 times for 38 yards but had an impressive day in the passing game grabbing 5 passes for 116 yards , a TD , and breaking one for 74 yards. RB Shonn Greene has been struggling all year and continued against the Raiders as he had 15 attempts for 59 yards.

The Jets defense did not look like a Rex Ryan defense at all , as they gave up 383 total yards, destroyed for 234 rushing yards, and 156 yards passing. Raiders RB Darren McFadden looked like an olympic runner having a race with young boys as he blew by the Jets defense on 19 carries for 171 yards and 2 TD’s ( it reminded me of an old football video game where former Raiders RB Bo Jackson ran past everyone at will )

My Prediction: The Jets are having issues in stopping the run, and that could be a huge problem in this game as the Ravens have been running the ball really well. I think the Ravens very well could cover the -3 1/2 point spread, and I expect them to win this game.
