NFL Betting Predictions: Philadelphia Eagles vs Pittsburgh Steelers

In just a few hours we will watch the Philadelphia Eagles (3-1) who have been scrapping by wins travel to take on a team that is most desperate for a win the (1-3) Pittsburgh Steelers. BetDSI Sportsbook current live lines display the Steelers as -190 favorites giving up -3 to the Eagles.

The Steelers coming off a bye week had a chance to heal up, RB Rashard Mendenhall and linebacker James Harrison could be back for today’s game. In their last contest the Steelers lost a heart breaker 34-31 to the Raiders on a waning Janikowski field goal.

QB Ben Roethlisberger had a field day throwing 36 completions on 49 attempts for 384 yards and 4 touchdowns. Receiver Mike Wallace found himself open all day with 8 catches 123 yards and a touchdown. But Roethlisberger wasn’t done there, spreading the ball around with Antonio Brown for 7 completions 87 yards a score , and TE Heath Miller for 8 catches 60 yards and two touchdowns.

This loss definitely fell on the defense which shown it cannot compete with the losses of Linebacker James Harrison and safety Troy Polamalu. With their two defensive superstars gone they are a whole different team on the defensive side of the ball, their defensive front and secondary was run around, run through, and run over all game. They should be a much nastier and punishing defense with Harrison back this Sunday.

The Eagles found a way to scrape by another victory against a tough New York Giants team 19-17 when NY kicker Lawrence Tynes missed a 54 yard field goal with 15 seconds left. Michael Vick was more effective in this victory than previous weeks getting 19 completions on 30 attempts for 241 yards a touchdown, and ran 6 times for another 49 yards. It certainly helped Vick that LeSean McCoy burned by NY defenders for 123 yards on 23 carries.

Betting Prediction:

With LB James Harrison stepping back onto the field look for the Pittsburgh Steelers to be a much tougher defense, one that could give Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick fits all game.

Ben Roethlisberger is playing great and I look for the Steelers to come away with a decisive victory at home against an Eagles team that hasn’t been good at all.
