NFL Betting Predictions: Washington Redskins at St. Louis Rams

Sunday at 1pm Eastern, the Washington Redskins (2-1) travel to take on the St. Louis Rams (0-3). BetDSI Live Lines currently have the Redskins a -1 point favorite over the Rams.

The St. Louis Rams offense have lacked weapons making a promising young QB Sam Bradford struggle greatly. Bradford has barely completed half his passing attempts on the year, completing 55 passes out of 108 for 685 yards, and only 2TD’s 1 INT. Last week against the tough Baltimore Ravens the offense only managed 7 total points and no one on this offense showed up to play. The running game has been every bit as lackluster as their passing attack with RB Cadillac Williams leading the way this year with 50 attempts 202 yards only 4.0 yards per a carry and no TD’s.

The Rams defense has been just as bad as their offense, failing to keep games close and the opposing team out of the endzone. They got smashed on by the Ravens last week for 37 points, where they generated no pass rush, and the secondary might as well of not even been on the field. Ravens QB Joe Flacco threw 389 yards and 3 TD’s last week against this Rams defense.

The Washington Redskins being some what of a surprise in their first 3 games are 2-1 after losing a heartbreaker to the Dallas Cowboys last week. The offense was not spectacular but moved the ball at least. QB Rex Grossman threw 22 completions on 37 attempts for 250 yards a TD and INT. The Skins amounted no rushing attack at all last week with Tim Hightower running 14 times for 41 yards.

The Redskins defense however did come to play last week forcing Dallas QB Tony Romo to throw up a pick from a nasty blitz. Also getting into Romo’s head from the pass rush making him bobble snaps from his center all day long. The Skins forced 3 fumbles, and only allowed the Cowboys to convert on 3rd down, 3 out of 13 times. It was the run defense that was Washington’s demise last week as they allowed Dallas RB Felix Jones to bust loose for 115 yards on his only 14 carries.

My Prediction: The Washington Redskins are much improved this year while the St. Louis Rams are in disarray from lack of weapons. QB Sam Bradford may have another tough game ahead of him against this tough Redskins defense. Look for the Skins to cover this very low spread of -1 point.
