Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions is a huge favorite to lead the league in receiving in 2012 but there are plenty of interesting choices. One that jumps out at me is Andre Johnson of the Houston Texans who came in second in total yards receiving last year with 1,598. At huge odds of +1800 I would say that Johnson who has a good QB in Matt Schaub has the most value of any candidate on board.

With Andre Johnson another huge value selection is Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals. I think people forget how great of a receiver this guy is because a terrible QB rotation, but Carson Palmer is now in Arizona and he can certainly sling it. Fitzgerald should be in talks as one of the top three receivers in the league and I think Palmer who threw for 4,000 yards in Oakland could put Fitz back in the talks of best in the league.

Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys had a break-out season in ’12 and could stand to make a case of leading receiver next year with his QB Tony Romo piling up yards with him.

Another interesting selection I like is Demaryius Thomas of the Denver Broncos. Thomas came in fourth in receiving yards last year with his first season with QB Peyton Manning and could improve on that with added chemistry this year.

The receiver the oddsmakers give the best chance of outperforming Calvin Johnson in yardage this season is Brandon Marshall of the Bears. Marshall comes in at +650 odds and with exception of his rookie season his receiving output has been exceptional.

If I had to make any one selection I would certainly go with Calvin Johnson , but as stated the best value on board is Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald. These betting props are great fun to play on your favorite teams best wideout for an added reason to cheer each week or just getting it in on the player you feel strongly is best in the league.
