NFL Betting Review: Oakland Raiders vs Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a nasty 45-7 beating at the hands of the Packers. The lone Vikings TD coming from a 3 yd Adrian Peterson run at garbage time as it was the 3rd quarter and already 24-0. Adrian Peterson ended up with 14 carrys for 51 yards and a TD. QB Christian Ponder regressed this week against the crafty Green Bay secondary, going 16/34 for 190 yards and throwing an interception.
Minnesota’s defense was chewed up last week allowing 45 points on 356 total yards, 90 rushing, and 266 passing. They allowed a ridiculous 6 total touchdowns, 4 passing, 1 rushing, and 1 on a punt return. About the only player you can say showed up on defense last week was DE Jared Allen who had 7 tackles and a sack.
The Oakland Raiders are now atop of the AFC West with a huge upset 24-17 victory on the road against the Chargers. QB Carson Palmer looks to have made the transition from couch to football field nicely. Last week he threw 14 completions on 20 attempts for 2 TD’s and 1 INT. His lone interception came on blown block at the line where Palmer was obliterated by a blind side. RB Michael Bush had a heck of a day running 30 times for 157 yards a TD. He also had 3 receptions for 85 yards one of which was a 55 yarder.
The Raiders defense against San Diego allowed 314 total yards, 239 passing, and only 75 rushing. LB Kamerion Wimbley made Charger QB Phillip Rivers hear footsteps all day long getting 4 sacks and also making 7 tackles. DT Tommy Kelly had 3 tackles and a sack, while FS Matt Giordano made an interception on a play WR Vincent Jackson appeared to have given up on. Jackson later stated that ” He did not see the ball”.
Betting Prediction: I do not understand how this one is a ” Pick Em” game. With the Oakland Raiders coming off a hard fought underdog victory against a division rival, and the Minnesota Vikings coming into this game getting smashed on last week looking sloppy. This just looks like money for an Oakland Raiders wager.
