NFL Betting: Week 15 Picks

The playoff picture in the AFC is muddled at the bottom, with Miami and Pittsburgh being just two of several teams trying to get the sixth seed. In the NFC, Seattle has established itself as the top dog, but the next few teams below the Seahawks are fighting for positioning this weekend.

Seattle Seahawks @ New York Giants

Sunday, 1:00 PM ET

NFL Football Betting Odds: Seahawks -7

If the Seahawks win this road game in New York, they won’t have to play another true road game for the remainder of the season. This is a powerful incentive for the team. What should also help Seattle to focus this week: The Seahawks lost last week on the road. This group will probably not lose two straight games. An offense that struggled against the powerful defense of the San Francisco 49ers should be able to operate with a lot more efficiency and smoothness against the Giants, who have just not been able to play at a high level against any opponent for a prolonged period of time this season. Even New York’s wins in 2013 have been ugly. The Giants scraped by Philadelphia on a day when the Eagles were playing their third-string quarterback. New York struggled in wins over Minnesota and Oakland. The Giants played their best game of the season against Green Bay, but that was partly the result of an injury to Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Giants have not played one really impressive game against a quality team this season. Maybe they will against Seattle and cover the betting lines but one shouldn’t expect as much.

Pick: Seattle -7

Philadelphia Eagles @ Minnesota Vikings

Sunday, 1:00 PM ET

NFL Football Betting Odds: Eagles -6.5

A big reason to think Philadelphia will win this game is that the Eagles know how big an opportunity they hold in their hands this week. The Eagles lost to Dallas in the first meeting between the two teams this season. Philadelphia must to go Dallas in the final week of the regular season, and if the Eagles lose that game, they will lose a head-to-head tiebreaker to the Cowboys in the event of a tie in the standings. Philadelphia would love to win the division before week 17, and that’s what will happen if the Eagles can win two straight games while the Cowboys drop one of their next two contests. Don’t expect Philadelphia to lose focus here. The Eagles should be able to score a lot and point spread against the Vikings’ defense inside a domed stadium, without snow or rain or December wind.

Pick: Philadelphia -6.5

Chicago Bears @ Cleveland Browns

Sunday, 1:00 PM ET

NFL Football Betting Odds: PICK

The Bears jump-started their season with a 45-point explosion on Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys. This team should be ready to roll against a Cleveland team that is surely dejected and depressed after blowing a late 12-point lead to the New England Patriots. Expect the Bears to get the job done here.

Pick: Chicago
