NFL Breaking News – Mikel LeShoure is Out for the Season

Lions fans can’t be happy about the news this Monday that their rookie running back Mikel LeShoure will be out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon.

Head coach Jim Schwartz confirmed the second round pick won’t be able to play during 2011. “Mikel Leshoure tore his Achilles in practice today. He’s going to be out for the season”, said Schwartz.

If you thought LeShoure was a sure pick for your fantasy team, well, you need to go in another direction now, and so are the Lions.

Ricky Williams, Clinton Portis, Tiki Barber, Jerome Harrison, and former Lion Kevin Smith are among the running backs without a team; look for the Lions to hit the free agency because I don’t expect Jahvid Best to play the main role they need.

Detroit hasn’t had any luck in this offseason because their first round draft pick Nick Fairley will undergo surgery, and will be out indefinitely.

The Lions are listed +500 to win the NFC North and +2500 to win the NFC conference in the BetDSI NFL future betting odds.
