NFL Championship Round: Baltimore Ravens vs New England Patriots
What has turned out to be quite the playoff rivalry match in the past is shaping up for another good one this Sunday when the Baltimore Ravens travel to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots. With Patriots future Hall Of Fame QB Tom Brady setting a record last week for most playoff wins and looking unstoppable, BetDSI Sportsbook has the New England as heavy home favorites over the Ravens.
The New England Patriots advanced in the playoffs with a 41-28 win over the Houston Texans last week. The game was very competitive going into half time with the Patriots only up by four. However come second half when the pats put up two touchdowns while holding the Texans scoreless the game was very much out of reach for the outclassed Texans.
Patriots QB Tom Brady was near flawless going 25 of 40 for 344 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Stevan Ridley has continued his contribution into the playoffs making the Patriots a dual threat on offense for the first time in years with 15 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown. RB Shane Vereen also continues being a great goal line threat as he had 7 rushes for 41 yards, a score, and had an impressive 5 catches for 83 yards and two more touchdowns.
The Baltimore Ravens put on a performance of the ages in a game that will go down as an instant classic. Beating the Denver Broncos as large underdogs on the road 38-35 in overtime has to have the Ravens beaming with confidence going into this weekends game against New England.
Ravens QB Joe Flacco was stellar throwing 18 completions for 331 yards and three touchdowns including the game tie-ing 70 yard touchdown pass to receiver Jacoby Jones. Running back Ray Rice left it all on the field with 30 carries, 131 yards, and a touchdown.
The defense stepped up in a big way when needed with legendary linebacker Ray Lewis playing as if he was a young man in his prime with 17 total tackles, and Terrell Suggs making 10 tackles with two sacks. Cornerback Corey Graham had a great day a swell with 8 tackles and two interceptions, one of which for a touchdown.
I look for the New England Patriots to win this one at home against the Baltimore Ravens. However at +8 points the value is all on the Baltimore Ravens side. Never do I ever promote a teaser bet, but in this case teasing the Baltimore Ravens line to +10 ½ just seems so money to me in this game. Baltimore QB Joe Flacco has played great in the playoffs and should definitely keep this game from getting out of hand.
