NFL Football Betting Picks: Tennessee Titans vs Carolina Panthers
Sunday the Tennessee Titans (4-4) travel to Bank Of America Stadium to take on the Carolina Panthers (2-6). BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the Panthers as a -3 1/2 point favorite over the Titans.
The Tennessee Titans are coming off a tough 24-17 loss to the Bengals, in which they seem to have lost thier explosiveness. With RB Chris Johnson averaging a pathetic 3 yards per a carry, and not doing much in the receiving game either it is really been tough for this team to stay ahead in games. QB Matt Hasselbeck has been playing great for the Tennessee Titans this year. Last week Hasselbeck threw 24 completions on 41 passes for 272 yards and 2 TD’s. This is all with his best WR Kenny Britt still injured, if Chris Johnson could get his game together they could really be contenders. Currently they sit at 2nd in the AFC South.
Tennessee’s defense wasen’t terrible last week allowing 24 points, the offense had lost a fumble deep in thier territory which sealed the game. With that said, they weren’t that great either. The Titans defense gave up 319 total yards, 109 rushing, and 210 passing. They amounted no pass rush getting just one sack, and not forcing a single turnover.
The Carolina Panthers are coming off a bye, in the week prior they lost 24-21 to the Vikings. The Panthers offense kept them in it till the very last second, where a botched short field goal Olindo Mare his only attempt, ended the game. QB Cam Newton played spectacular (minus 2 lost fumbles) throwing 22 completions on 35 attempts for 290 yards and 3 TD’s. WR Steve Smith is has been wreacking havoc upon defenses this year. In just 8 games this year, Smith has 46 receptions for 918 yards and 4 TD’s.
The Panthers defense got beat for more than a couple big plays in the game against Minnesota. They allowed 361 total yards, 229 passing, and 132 yards rushing. Carolina did have 4 sacks and forced a fumble they recovered. But they allowed a sick 50%, 3rd down conversation percentage letting the Vikings go 7/14.
My Prediction: I really like the Tennessee Titans here against the Carolina Panthers. The Titans Chris Johnson could really pick it up against the Panthers struggling run defense, and Matt Hasselbeck has been playing sharp enough to take advantage of the Panthers hurting secondary.
