NFL Football Betting Preview: New Orleans Saints vs Atlanta Falcons
Sunday at 1pm Eastern, the New Orleans Saints (6-3) travel to the Georgia Dome to take on the Atlanta Falcons (5-3). BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines currently have this as a pick em game (no spread), with an over/under of 50 points.
With the New Orleans Saints sitting just one game above the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South, this could be a close game, with lots of excitement building up for it. Each team are coming off wins where they played good on both sides of the ball.
Last week the New Orleans Saints avenged a loss from three weeks earlier to the Buccaneers 27-16. Saints QB Drew Brees played good throwing only one interception and going 27/36 for 258 yards, and 2 touchdowns. The 5 foot 6 inch Darren Sproles is electrifying he has over 1,000 all purpose yards this year. Last week Sproles had 4 rushing attempts for 35 yards earning over 10 yards per a carry, also snagging 5 receptions for 57 yards, one of which a 21 yard TD.
The wishy washy defense of the Saints had one of it’s better games last week against the Bucs, allowing 365 yrds, 84 rushing, and 281 passing. They really excelled at stuffing their oppenents on 3rd down holding them to 2 out of 12, only a 16% conversion rate.
The Atlanta Falcons offense lit up the Colts for 31 points last week in a all around blowout. Atlanta’s offense really shined this week, showing what the organization had envisioned when they gave so much up for Julio Jones their rookie wide receiver. Jones last week had 3 receptions for 131 yards and 2 touchdowns. One of the catches was a ridiculous circus catch in the endzone, while the other was a display of electrifying speed by Jones. QB Matt Ryan went 14 for 25, throwing for 275 yards, 3 TD’s and an INT.
Atlanta Falcons defense was dominant last week, they did not allow Indianapolis any points on offense. The only points gained by the Colts was a Matty Ryan an interception returned for a TD. The Falcons defense allowed very low totals of 186 total yards, 103 passing, and 83 rushing.
My Prediction: With the way both of these clubs have been playing so well, it is no wonder this is a ” Pick Em ” game. I think the Saints are going to win, however I think the best bet is Over 50 points total. Both of these defense get chewed up at times, against mediocre offenses, and this one could be a shoot-out.
