NFL Football Betting Preview: Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinnati Bengals
Sunday at 1pm Eastern, the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3) travel to Paul Brown Stadium to take on the (6-2) Cincinnati Bengals. BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines show the Steelers as a -190 favorite giving up 3 points to the Bengals.
The Cincinati Bengals are coming into this game with their first five game winning streak since 1988. The Bengals offense has looked special this year under rookie QB Andy Dalton control. Last week against the Titans, Dalton threw 22 completions on 39 attempts, for 217 yards and 3 touchdowns. Rookie WR A.J. Green is already on the same page with his young QB, grabbing 7 receptions for 83 yards last week. On the season Green already has 40 receptions for 599 yards and 5 TD’s. The Bengals certainly have a good young offense to build up for years to come.
This Bengals defense has been creating problems for offenses all year, and last week was no different. Cincinnati’s defense only allowed 17 points, on 328 total yards, 250 passing, and only 70 rushing. The Cincinnati Bengal defense was so dominant last week they only allowed 95 yards in the final 30 minutes of the game. What is more impressive is that 70 yards of that came on one (the finale) play which was not even close to a touchdown.
The Pittsburgh Steelers coming off a huge win against the Patriots, only to play terribly last week losing 23-20 to the Ravens. The Steelers offense appeared to be asleep the first 3 quarters of the game putting up only two fieldgoals. They came out after halftime and got shutout another quarter in the 3rd. In the 4th quarter Ben Roethlisberger finally threw a touchdown, going 20/37 for 330 yards and one INT on the day. RB Rashard Mendenhall had 13 carries for 52 yards and a TD in the fourth as well.
Last week the Steelers defense allowed 356 total yards, 289 passing, but really shutdown the run only giving up 67 on the ground. Where they really got chewed up was on third down, they allowed a huge 14 of 21 a 66% conversion rate on 3rd down.
My Prediction: The only teams the Pittsburgh Steelers have beat on the road this year are the lowly Cardinals and very lowly Colts ( who almost beat them 23-20). The Cincinnati Bengals have been on a a nasty winning streak and I like them at +3 points or +160 moneyline at home.
