NFL Football Betting Review: Houston Texans vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sunday at 1 pm Eastern, the Houston Texans (6-3) travel to Raymond James Stadium to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-4). BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the Texans as a -200 favorite giving up -3 1/2 points to the Buccaneers.
The Houstan Texans are riding on a three game winning streak, and so far this season are 2-2 on the road. Last week the Texans stomped on the Browns 30-12. QB Matt Schaub struggled still without his star WR Andre Johnson due to injury, he went 14/23 for 119 yards and an interception on the day. Houston’s runningbacks came in to save the day for them, Arian Foster had 19 carrys for 124 yards and a TD. And RB Ben Tate had 12 carries 115 yards and a TD, bringing the teams combined rushing total at 261 on the day.
The Texan’s defense really didnt let Cleveland get the ball moving either. They compiled 4 sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception. On the day the Texans defensive unit gave up only a 172 total yards, 128 passing, and a stingy 44 yards rushing.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming into this contest on a two game losing streak, having lost last week 27-16 to the Saints. Against New Orleans QB Josh Freeman showed some leadership skills and played alright for the lack of playmakers on that offense going 27/37 for 281 yards and a TD. RB LeGarrette Blount had a highlight reel run when he hurdled a defender, Blount had 13 carrys for 72 yards.
The Buccaneers just could not stop the pass last week, giving up 365 total yards, 281 passing, and 84 rushing, They created very little pressure on the QB not getting a single sack, they also failed to force any fumbles. Veteran CB Ronde Barber made the only big play for the defense grabbing an interception.
Betting Review: With the way the Houston Texans have been playing dominant football, and the way the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been struggling. I find this a no brainer on Houston for the win. The Buccaneers are a good team however the Texans have far too much firepower, and the defense has been stepping up. All around they are playing too good to lose to a mediocre team that is struggling.
