NFL Betting Predictions: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Cleveland Browns
Sunday at 1pm Eastern, the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-6) travel to take on the Cleveland Browns (3-6). BetDSI Sportsbook current Live Lines display the Browns as a -115 favorite giving up -1 point to the Jaguars.
The Cleveland Browns are coming off a 13-12 loss to the St. Louis Rams, where a botched snap on a 22 yard field goal attempt cost them the game. QB Colt Mccoy controlled the offense well without making any mistakes going 20/27 for 218 yards. However once again failed to get them in the endzone in yet another home game. Runningback Chris Ogbonnaya had 19 rushes for 90 yards a nice 4.7 yards per a carry in Peyton HIllis’ absence. Rookie WR Greg Little is building a great working relationship with his QB as he added another 6 receptions and 84 yards on the year against the Rams.
The only thing the Browns defense could have done better was stop the run. They gave up 133 rushing yards on 32 total running plays, but stopped the pass regularly. Only allowing 148 passing yards, getting a sack and forcing an interception.
The Jacksonville Jaguars offense last week did more than enough to dispatch the lowly winless Colts 17-3. Rookie QB Blaine Gabbert threw 14 completions on 21 attempts for 118 yards a TD and an INT. RB Maurice Jones-Drew added another good game to his resume as he had 15 carries for 114 yards a TD, and also 3 receptions for another 23 yards.
Jacksonville’s defense only allowed 3 points against Indianapolis giving up only 212 total yards, 128 passing, and 84 rushing. DE Jeremy Mincey was very disruptive having a great day getting 5 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. MLB Paul Posluszny had 6 tackles, half a sack, and an interception. While DB Drew Coleman also had an interception and 3 tackles.
Betting Prediction: It is really hard to argue that either of these teams is are better than the other. With equal records and struggles in this season this is certainly as close to a ” Pick-em” game you are going to get involving a spread.
I am going to have to go with the Jacksonville Jaguars over the Cleveland Browns. For the simple fact that Jacksonville’s RB Maurice Jones-Drew will be the best player on the field in this matchup. There is simply no one on the Cleveland Browns with that kind of playmaking ability or explosiveness, giving the Jaguars that edge.
