Monday Night October 31st, the Winnipeg Jets (3-6-1) travel to take on the Florida Panthers (6-4-0). BetDSI Sportsbook current Live NHL Lines currently have the Panthers as a -160 money line over the Rangers.
This will be one of six games where these Southeast Division rivals will meet. Last season when the Jets were still the Atlanta Thrashers. The now Winnipeg team won four out of six against the Panthers with all the games being decided by a single score.
The Winnipeg Jets have been vastly inconsistent their last two games, one an insane 9-8 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers, the other a shutout 1-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Goalie Ondrei Pavelec has been getting scored all over as of late, with a 2-4-1 record and a 3.75 goals against average, the only good thing you can say is he only let up only 1 goal and had 27 saves in the defeat to Tampa Bay.
Well Pavelec is getting a team he has been really good against to try and jump start his season. The goalie is 4-1-0 with a 2.04 GAA in his six starts against Florida in his career, while being 3-0-0 witha 1.63 GAA in three of those games at BankAtlantic Center.
The Florida Panthers at 6-4-0 are in second in the Southeast, and coming off a road trip which saw them win two out of three, all in close one goal contests. They are coming off a loss to the Ottawa Senators in which it was tied up 2-2 till Senators Nick Foligno scored the game winning goal with 2.5 seconds left in the game.
Florida Panthers goalie Jose Theodore has had great success against the Thrashers, the goaltender is 14-5-0 with a 2.63 GAA. He is also 4-2 on the season with the new and improved Panthers. Right Wing Kris Versteeg is the Panthers leading scorer with 5 goals on the season, he had one and an assist Thursday against the Senators.
My Prediction: The Winnipeg Jets have been playing too inconsistent (even with Pavelic’s nice record against the former Thrasher team) for me to bet on against the hot Panthers. Who has a goalie of equal success against the opposition. I’m taking the Panthers on the moneyline at -160.
