NHL Playoffs Betting: Phoenix Coyotes take on the Nashville Predators
Tonight marks the beginning of second round series where the Phoenix Coyotes take on the Nashville Predators who will be at home. During the regular season these two teams alternated wins at two a piece all on the road, neither team won a meeting at home. BetDSI Sportsbook current live lines display the Predators as -125 home favorites over the Phoenix Coyotes.
The Nashville Predators only needed five games to defeat the fifth seed Detroit Red Wings, putting them away 2-1 in game five. Nashville came out strong in that game scoring with Predators right wing Alexander Radulov scoring the first goal of the night in the first period, with off a David Legwand assist. In the second period Detroit knotted it up for the Nashville Predators David Legwand to score the game winning goal with Gabriel Bourque and Alexander Radulov on the assist.
Radulov led the team in points during their series with the Red Wings putting up 5 on a goal and 4 assists. Left wing Gabriel notched 4 points on 3 goals with just 8 shots on net and an assist. David Legwind the game five winning scorer had 3 goals and an assist. Predators goaltender Rekka rinne was a beast making a .944 save percentage stopping 151 pucks in the series.
The Phoenix Coyotes defeated Chicago in game six in dominant fashion winning 4-0 , advancing to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored first for Phoenix 13 minutes into the first. Following was goals by Gilbert Brule, Antoine Vermette, and Kyle Chipchura all in the third. Goaltender Mike Smith was lights out as he made 33 saves in the shut-out. In the series Smith has posted a .950 save percentage making 241 total stops.
Leading the Coyotes in scoring in the series was Vermette with 4 goals on 10 shots on net to go with an assist. Keith Yandle has been the dish man with 5 assists in the playoffs so far.Mikkel Boedker has 2 goals to go with 2 assists while Rostislav Klesla has a goal and 2 assists.
NHL Betting Prediction: The Phoenix Coyotes let up the highest average shots allowed in the first round with Goalie Mike Smith seeing 40+ a game. However they do have the best penalty killing unit at 94.7 percent. While the Nashville Predators have made 2.75 goals per a goal allowed the highest ratio in the playoffs. I believe the Predators will take this series as they will prove too much for the loose defense of the Coyotes.
