The title fight is an interesting one. It is hard to believe, but it has been 5 years roughly since we last saw Brock Larson in the UFC. He has gone 8-3 in that time span and has a four fight winning streak heading into this title match. he is 36 years old, and a veteran of over 40 fights. In his last outing, he won a UD over rugged striker Melvin Manhoef at ONE FC 8, which is a solid win that earned him the title shot.
Suzuki is also 36 years old, but at 10-1-2 he has roughly 1-3 the ring experience that Larson has. Basically, for the last 7 or so years, Suzuki has fought once a year. He won by TKO over Phil Baroni at ONE FC 9 last year to earn this shot. Though Baroni is still a dangerous puncher, he is far from his peek and has an overall losing record, and he is not nearly as dangerous as Manhoef by comparison.
Look for Larson to be a favorite at the sportbooks when the line comes out. Suzuki is an aggressive striker who has earned most of his wins by stoppage, but after surviving Manhoef and going the distance with Tarec Saffiedine, Larson has shown he can handle aggressive strikers before. Larson has a good number of submission wins on his curriculum, and one is likely here as Larson will look to ground Suzuki early and finish it.
