RG3 Attempts To Keep Redskins Winning Streak Alive At Home Against Ravens
The red hot rookie QB RG3 and the Washington Redskins look to build upon their three game winning streak when they host the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore coming off their first loss in the last five games at the hands of the Steelers led by back up Charlie Batch are a dog in this match at BetDSI Sportsbook after last week’s let down.
The Washington Redskins won a tough fought battle on Monday Night Football 17-16 against the New York Giants. With rookie QB Robert Griffin III throwing just 13 completions on 21 attempts for 163 yards and a touchdown, he got a little luck when a fumble was recovered by his WR Josh Morgan and ran 12 more yards for a score. Griffin also ran 5 times for 72 more yards for an impressive 14 yards per attempt. Rookie running back Alfred Morris had quite the day with 22 carries for 124 yards.
Most impressively the Redskins defense really tightened up on their own side of the field forcing the Giants to attempt four field goals instead of getting into the end zone on relatively successful drives. Veteran linebacker and team captain London Fletcher showed he is still around the ball as much as the best in the league with 12 total tackles on the night.
In their 23-20 defeat to the Steelers the Ravens offense didn’t look great but did enough to put their team in position to win. QB Joe Flacco threw 16 completions on 34 attempts for 188 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Running back Ray Rice ran effectively while having his carries limited to 12 times for 78 yards and a touchdown. WR Anquan Boldin is still getting the job done as a great possession receiver leading his team with 5 catches for 81 yards and a score.
It was the Baltimore defense that let their team down, allowing second string 37 year old QB Charlie Batch who is the oldest non-kicker in the league throw for 276 yards and a touchdown late in the game. Also shooting themselves in the foot with 8 penalties for 70 yards did not help the Ravens in their defeat one bit.
This is a tough one to pick a winner in and if I absolutely had to make a case on who would win I would go with the red hot Redskins. However giving up points in a game with two very even teams is not something I advise and instead really like the over of 48 points in this match up.
Also it may even be wrong to state that these teams are even as you will not find many if any power rankings with the Redskins above the Ravens, even after Baltimore’s defeat last week. Ravens are more polished and have a higher ceiling as of right now. Take over the set point total if you are betting this match-up.
