Rivalry Game to Determine Top of NFC North When Bears Host the Lions
Great rivalry match-up this weekend to determine the top of the NFC North when the Detroit Lions host the Chicago Bears. Both teams are currently at 5-3 with the Packers but Chicago owns the tie-breaker having defeated the Packers in week 9.
The Detroit Lions have been rolling lately and much of it is due to their QB Matthew Stafford tearing it up. Stafford has 16 touchdown tosses on the year to just 6 interceptions currently sporting a 94.7 QB rating. Last week Stafford threw for 488 yards in a riveting 31-30 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
The acquisition of Reggie Bush has certainly paid off as he is stretching the field. He currently has 518 yard rushing with a 4.4 average yards per carry. Bush also has 31 receptions two of which for touchdowns to go with his two rushing TD’s.
The Chicago Bears have been riding a balanced offense to their success this season with QB Jay Cutler and RB Matt Forte. Cutler currently has 12 touchdown passes and in his last game before missing 2 due to injury he threw 262 yards and two touchdowns for a 106.5 rating against the Redskins.
Matt Forte has been a beast this season with 658 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns. Forte also has 40 catches for another 316 yards including a 33 yard reception so he has certainly been a dual threat for his offense this season.
This should be a great match-up and lines makers believe this could be a close one as BetDSI Sportsbook currently has this as a pick’em game. I think this is a great opportunity to take a hot Detroit Lions team against the Bears who have a QB returning from an absence due to injury.
Take the Detroit Lions they very well could run away with this one should Matthew Stafford stay hot and Chicago not being able to keep up on offense with Jay Cutler possibly being rusty.
