Ronda Rousey, the Strikeforce bantamweight champion, is 25 years old, 5’6’’ and weighs 135lbs. She is at her prime and we get to see her in all her glory, no pun intended. She has a superb, sexy physique, and after all the training she does, she has still managed to keep her curves, unlike some female fighters. After watching the ESPN Body Issue photoshoot video and checking out the pics below you will understand why her name comes up when people discuss who the hottest female fighters of MMA are. See the photoshoot video here!
27 athletes will be featured in the ESPN Body Issue hitting newsstands this week and Ronda Rousey will be on 1 of 6 of the covers. In 2009 Gina Carano was featured in the ESPN Body Issue, 2010 featured Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos, followed by Jon Jones in 2011. As you can see ESPN has featured breakthrough fighters who were really getting noticed in MMA, fighters who were making MMA more popular in a positive way.
With Ronda Rousey’s undefeated 5 win streak and dominate 1st round finishes, it’s clear that she is the new face of women’s MMA. This was made even clearer when Cristiane Santos fell from grace. Hopefully all of this will make Gina Carano want to come back into the picture.
The next time you see Ronda Rousey she will be in the cage against Sarah Kaufman on August 18, 2012 in San Diego, California. Kaufman has wins over the likes of Alexis Davis and Miesha Tate; Sarah is also a former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion. BetDSI has the odds on this match as follows:
SARAH KAUFMAN +350
RONDA ROUSEY -500
