Stanford vs USC Picks and Betting Odds

Our hosts “Bar Stool Picklebacker” Randy Mann and the “ever effervescent” Gabriela Gordon give us the 411 on the upcoming Stanford vs USC PAC-12 match up. Oddsmakers currently have the Stanford vs USC betting odds set with the #4 ranked Cardinal at a measly 4 point favorite versus the new and improved (Post Lane Kiffin) Trojans. On the surface, the spread seems a bit insulting for a team that just came off of the demolition of the #2 Oregon Ducks in what might have been the performance of the year for any D1 football school. Stanford will be looking to ride out the season in the best possible style to try and backdoor their way into the BCS title game. To do that, Stanford needs to win in sound fashion versus everyone remaining on the schedule.

USC was a shoe in for under bettors until the un-ceremonious dumping of Lane Kiffin. Since the departure of Kiffin, the Trojans have seemed to have found the cure for their offensive ills and are putting up more Trojanesque type of numbers on offense. In their last game versus Cal they passed the Half-Century mark and looked in control against a suspect Cal squad. This weekend will expose the world to who the Trojans really are Contender or Pretender!

Expect this match up to be dominated by the Stanford D and their running game. The Cardinal look solid as ever after the Oregon drubbing, but the Cardinal loss to the Utah Utes earlier in the season does show their ability to under-achieve and lose key road games to lesser quality teams.

For the average Joe bettor looking for the inside slant on Stanford vs USC picks, this seems like a no-brainer with the expectation that the tree logo’d and inspired Stanford squad will be laying hard wood on the Trojans. But, those in the know and who set the line values, they seem to think the Trojans will keep it tight throughout the match up. For those of us who hang out in the betting community, we know those Odds guys seem to know a thing or two about a thing or two. That being said, “in odds we trust!”

Now, without fail, let’s turn this over to our always omniscient and often Picklebacking hosts to get us up to snuff on this sure to be spry PAC- 12 match up from a bettor’s perspective.

Our Pac 12 matchup of the week Stanford vs USC–

In week 11’s most memorable game, it was the Stanford Cardinal that held true— whooping up on the Oregon Ducks—a team most thought would be playing Bama for the national championship.

Stanford truly man-handled them. And, if it wasn’t for the loss against Utah, there would be some discussion regarding them as a #2 spot along side FSU.

Stanford has USC this weekend. And one would think from their show against Oregon they will roll over the Trojans. But, lookout…

USC has won 4 of their last 5 since Lane Kiffin was expelled and put 62 points on the board in a drubbing of CAL.

Let’s get things back to our most exquisite stat’s girl, Gabi! … What’s the point spread in this matchup?

{GABI: } Randy, the Stanford Cardinal is giving up -3 points as they soar down to So. Cal.

I can’t wait to see this game!!

Head to Head—Stanford is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings in So. Cal

Interestingly enough, The Underdog is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings.

Go Trojans!!

I can’t deny a beautiful girl! No matter how good Stanford looked last week… there is something about this game that is making me lean with Gabi & the Trojans.

But, what do I know… one would think the Cardinal should be laying at least a touchdown—scored by their defense.

We’ll soon see if the Trojans have shaken the albatross and found their new identity. This game will prove it.

That said, best of luck out there….

Til’ the next time, I remain….

On the right side of the grass,

Cheers!
