Pro Wrestling: WWE Survivor Series This Weekend

This Sunday night November 23rd, the Scottrade Center in St Louis, Missouri will host the World Wrestling Entertainment’s 28th ‘SURVIVOR SERIES’.   Though the WWE is known as a scripted show, the company’s big events do traditionally appear at the sport books. The company has undergone a major overhaul in its product delivery and will be streaming the event free to new subscribers to the WWE Network, so a big time production is anticipated. When they get it right and pull out all the stops, the WWE can remain very unpredictable with its story-lines, thus the very tight lines on the main card.

The main event features Team Cena as a big and growing favorite at (-560), with the kickback on the Team Authority at (+370). Team Authority consists of Seth Rollins, Rusev, Luke Harper, Mark Henry and Kane, while Team Cena is led by John Cena and consists of Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan, Ryback and the Big Show. The match could potentially be the start of Ryback/Rusev and Rowan/Harper feuds, and it also has the potential to see the more than a year long storyline of The Authority come to a conclusion.

In a women’s title bout former long-time former title holder AJ Lee is the underdog (+170) to Nikki Bella (-230), in a match that seems secondary to Bella twin sister Brie, who will be ringside. The feud between the sisters has been the primary driver around this match, so the question is simple – will Brie interfere and cost her sister the belt, or will Nikki keep the belt only to have Brie wind up being her next challenge? With this pair, Nikki has been further along in ring than Brie, and AJ Lee might conceivably hold the title so this feud can be settled without the belt on the line.

Perhaps the match with the biggest buzz for the night has rebel-hero Dean Ambrose favored (-180) over Bray Wyatt (+140) in a pairing of two of the group’s best microphone performers. Both are pretty good in the ring, too and the match has an element of chaos bought on by the ring personalities of both men. The fact is, they appeal to the same type of person, so the line could be a true pick ‘em.

The final line at the books features tag team action as Gold & StarDust are favored to retain their belt at (-170) facing a field who pays (+130). That field consists of the Uso Brothers, Damien Mizdow &The Miz and Los Matadores.

Bets are paid for end of show results, so the usual count outs, interferences and disqualifications all come into play when determining a bet win.

Below is a video from the WWE Channel that has the contract signing for the main event.  Enjoy!
