Recruit and Reload: Texas A&M Aggies

As the NCAA Tournament comes to a close, GMS likes to review some of the power conference or power program teams that made it to the Big Dance and ask whether or not they’ve got a shot to return to the show next season. We continue on with teams eliminated in the Sweet 16.

Recruit and Reload: Texas A&M Aggies

Key Losses: Danuel House, Jalen Jones, Alex Caruso

Key Returners: Tyler Davis, DJ Hogg, Admon Gilder

Key Newcomers: Robert Williams, JJ Caldwell

Breakdown: The Aggies lose three of their top four players from a team that tied Kentucky for the SEC crown and made it to the Sweet 16. However lucky that win over UNI might have been, they earned their accomplishments. Now, though, it’s time to build the program around their key returning trio–perhaps, more specifically, around Davis.

Bringing in Williams should further establish A&M’s depth inside, while Caldwell looks like a dynamic backcourt mate for Gilder. Both were ranked as four-star prospects during their prep careers, but shouldn’t have too much pressure to make immediate, high-level impacts once they’re on campus.
