Thursday Night Football Colts Take On the Jaguars
We won’t have to wait till Sunday to see if Indianapolis Colts (5-3) rookie QB Andrew Luck continues his success. Luck is looking like the first pick of the draft and that has BetDSI Sportsbook displaying the Colts as favorites on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Last week Luck set a NFL rookie record for yards in a game with 433 against the Miami Dolphins. throwing 30 completions on 48 attempts for two touchdowns. He is connecting with all his receivers spreading the ball around nicely. Donnie Avery had 5 grabs, 108 yards, T.Y. Hilton had 6 catches 102 yards, a 36 yard touchdown, and veteran Reggie Wayne had 7 receptions 78 yards and a score.
The Colts defense came through in the second half of the game holding Miami to just a field goal. Indianapolis allowed 365 total yards, and were able to stop the run allowing only 84 yds on the ground. DE’s Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis both had a sack on Dolphins rookie QB Ryan Tannehill.
The Jaguars are now (1-7) after a 31-14 defeat at home to the Detroit Lions this Sunday. Second year QB Blaine Gabbert has had a rough sophomore season throwing just 9 touchdowns to 5 interceptions. Against the Lions he went 27/38 for 220 yards two touchdowns, and two picks. He hasn’t had much help from the running game with Maurice Jones-Drew gone. RB Rashad Jennings in Drew’s place rushed 12 time for only 45 yards.
Jacksonville’s defense maybe even worse than their offense. They allowed 434 total yards against Detroit, 149 yards rushing, and 285 in the air. The defensive unit allowed the Lions a ridiculous 66% third down conversion rate, and the defense only had one sack by DE George Selvie with his lone tackle on the day.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are just absolutely terrible on both sides of the ball. Their defense will have a heck of a time stopping Colts QB Andrew Luck who is playing hot. While their offense hasn’t been able to do much at all. Look for the Colts to cover the low -3 points in a win on the road.
