TUF 15 Finale Picks: 3 Reasons Why I See Jack Ellenberger Winning Over Martin Kampmann

The Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale fight card is balanced out pretty well and will definitely make for an exciting event. The main event: Jack Ellenberger vs Martin Kampmann, features two MMA veterans ranked in the top ten of the welterweight division, while the rest of the card is filled with mostly young and up and coming fighters. The event is scheduled to take place 6pm/9pm PTET from The Pearl in Las Vegas, Nevada. You can catch the first fight on Facebook, fights 2-5 on FuelTV and the rest of the fights on FX.

Jack “The Juggernaut” Ellenberger (27-5) vs Martin “The Hitman” Kampmann (19-5) is going to be such a great fight! Both are well-rounded fighters with KO power and are looking to put on the kind of show that will make them a shoe-in for a title fight. Although Kampmann has a great ground game I have to give this fight to Ellenberger, here are 3 reasons why:

1.) “The Juggernaut” Has Heavier Hands

Jack has 17 wins via TKO/KO while Martin has 7. Ellenberger punches like he wants to take someone’s head off and has more aggressive ground and pound. As soon as he smells blood he is all over his victim and doesn’t let up until the ref stops him. Jack has no losses via KO/TKO while Kampmann has 3.

2.) Wrestling and BJJ Experience Should Keep Ellenberger from Getting Submitted

There is no question that Kampmann has the advantage on the ground. Besides having a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, one belt higher than Ellenberger, “The Hitman” has more submission wins. But the good news is that Jack’s strong wrestling should keep him from getting taken down, he has a 91% takedown defense! Even if he does get taken down, Ellenberger          has only been submitted once and that was way back in 2007. Jack has a good ground game and should know not to risk hanging out on the ground with Kampmann.

3.) Jack is Streaking up the Beanstalk

Ellenberger is on a 7 win streak and has recently defeated Diego Sanchez and Jake Shields, two opponents that Kampmann has lost to less than 2 years ago. “The Juggernaut” doesn’t look like he will let himself be stopped by the likes of Martin Kampmann. He has undergone intense training for this match and he won’t stop until he gets title shot, you can bet on that.
