Two Teams On Winning-Streak’s Will Play Tonight When The Thunder Take On The Mavericks
Tonight the Oklahoma City Thunder (31-8) who is on a five game winning-streak will travel to take on the Dallas Mavericks (17-33) who are on a four game streak of their own. The Thunder sporting the best record in the league and being an offensive juggernaut will be favorites at BetDSI Sportsbook on the road against the Mavericks in this contest.
In their last game the Oklahoma City Thunder beat a very good Denver Nuggets team 117-97. Oklahoma shot an impressive 51.8 percent from the field going 44 of 85 and hitting a ridiculous 47.4 % of their three point attempts going 9 of 19. Creating 24 turnovers against the Nuggets and hitting 20 out of their 26 free throws Denver had little chance being out-scored the first three quarters of the game.
Russell Westbrook lit it up leading the Thunder in scoring with 32 points on 12 for 20 shooting and hitting 8 of 9 from the foul line. Kevin Durant also shot efficiently going 7 for 12 from the floor, hitting 2 out of 5 from behind the arc, and making 4 of 5 from the line for 20 points to go with his ridiculous five steal performance. Oklahoma put on a defensive clinic with 11 total steals and 11 total blocked shots against the outmatched Nuggets.
The Dallas Mavericks are starting to turn things around with four consecutive wins and will try to ride that momentum into their home match-up against the NBA’s best Oklahoma Thunder. In their last victory a 105-100 win over a really good Houston Rockets squad, the Mavericks shot a very low 38.4 percent from the floor and hit only 5 of 22 three point attempts. Free throws made all the difference in this contest that had 73 total shots from the foul line in a tough to watch game. Dallas hit 34 of 43 from the free throw line and that would be about the only way they were pulling a shooting as awful as they did.
Forward Dirk Nowitzki is starting to get back into the swing of things as he shot .500 on the night from the field going 7 of 14, nailing a three, and all four of his free throws to lead his team in scoring with 19 total points. Dallas did have six double digit scorers but none really shined brightly, 15 points from their bench definitely helped them get the nod over the Rockets.
In this match-up laying the points and taking the hot Oklahoma Thunder over a Dallas Mavericks team that is improving but still far from the NBA’s best Oklahoma makes all the sense in the world. Little chance the Mavericks improve their winning-streak to five games tonight by beating the Thunder.
