UFC 141: Brock Lesnar vs Alistair Overeem Betting Pick Plus $10k Handicapping Contest

UFC 141: Brock Lesnar vs Alistair Overeem Betting Pick Plus $10k Handicapping ContestUFC 141 takes place this Friday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s a big stage for a huge event, an event that fight fans just can’t miss. WWE fans will also be tuning in as Brock Lesnar will be taking on Alistair Overeem; the winner will become the #1 contender for the UFC Heavyweight division and will take on Junior dos Santos next.

Last week I gave you my underdog pick for UFC 141’s Nate Diaz vs Donald Cerrone, now I’m going to give you another pick. Be sure to use them not only for UFC betting over at the BetDSI Sportsbook, but for the Free Handicapping Contest over at UFCContest.com. There is a $10k prize pool with 100 cash prizes so be sure to register.

Brock Lesnar +120 vs Alistair Overeem -150

The odds are not too far apart on this match because Lesnar has wins over the likes of Randy Couture, Frank Mir and Shane Carwin. Although he lost in his last match against Cain Velasquez, Brock is healthier than ever and no one can deny that he has superior wrestling and strength. He has had more than a year off so we should see some improvements in his striking, defense and ground game, 3 areas he seriously lacked in skill.

Alistair Overeem, arguably the best heavyweight striker in MMA, also has holes in his defense. But it’s not just the standup he should be worried about, it’s the wrestling. Brock has showed that he is a monster when he can use his wrestling to take down an opponent and get some ground and pound in. Brock’s weight and strength can really wear out a grounded fighter so if Overeem can’t defend against most of Brocks takedowns then he is done for.

UFC 141 Main Event Betting Pick: Go with Alistair Overeem. He has already fought this year and has less holes in his game. He also exhibited good takedown defense in his last fight against Fabricio Werdum.
