UFC 145 Recap: The 3 Youngest Fighters Put on Stand Out Performances

The 3 youngest fighters on the card put on the best show and outshined everyone else. They were 24 year old Jon Jones, 22 year old Rory MacDonald and 21 year old Michael McDonald. Be sure to keep them in mind the next time you lay down money MMA betting.

Jon Jones went 5 rounds with Rashad Evans and won and all but maybe one of the rounds. It was the first time in his career that he went the distance with anyone, and it was the first time in a very long time that he may have actually lost a round. He showed very versatile striking and improved defense. He was able to be the aggressor all 5 rounds, control the fight and did not show any signs of fatigue. Next in line for Jones is Dan Henderson, a MMA veteran with a 4 win streak, crazy KO power and a very strong wrestling background.

Rory MacDonald has only 1 blemish on his record and that was from Carlos Condit. He has wins over the likes of Nate Diaz and from his stellar performance over Che Mills last night, this kid doesn’t like he’s slowing down. He totally dominated that fight and was able to leave the event looking as good as new. He was able to take down his opponent and fully mount him twice. His striking is good, BJJ is excellent and his ground and pound is wicked.

Michael McDonald bagged the biggest win of his career against former WEC Bantamweight Champ Miguel Torres on Saturday. Torres was clearly losing the stand up battle up decided to try to bang it out and ended up getting his lights turned off in the very first round. Miguel is a BJJ Black Belt with 23 wins via submissions, there is no doubt he should have taken the fight to the floor. Michael was able to beat Miguel to the punch time and time again. He moved in and out very quickly and showed great head and feet movement.
