The UFC 171 card scheduled for Dallas on March 15th will look to resolve a lot of open questions in the welterweight division. The main event of Robbie Lawlor and Johny Hendricks will fill the title vacated by Georges St Pierre, and common thinking has the number one contender for a shot at the winner coming from the Tyrone Woodley vs Carlos Condit co-main event bout. Right now at the books, Condit sits a favorite at (-175), with the return on Woodley sitting at (+155).

Should Condit win the fight, it almost goes without saying that Condit will get the first shot at the new title holder. Condit really is a complete fighter who would be a hard fight for Hendricks or Lawlor.
Should Woodley win the bout however, things are not that clear. Woodley is 2-1 in the UFC; and 2-2 in his last 4 fights overall, including a loss to Nate Marquardt, who is almost off the radar as far as the top 40 in the weight class. Woodley is going to need to finish Condit impressively to assure himself the title shot, and that is a very hard thing to do.
Also clamoring for a title shot is Rory MacDonald, the old GSP training partner who has done nothing but hurt his stock with flat performances. Macdonald however has a win over Demian Maia to his credit and his camp has inflated his head enough over the years that he believes he deserves a shot.
Also on this card is Hector Lombard taking on Jake Shields in a amtch where an impressive finish by either man could lead to a title shot next under the right circumstances.
The fighters are generally believed to be lining up to face Hendricks, who is a big favorite in the match, but Robbie Lawlor could be the opponent for these guys. TItle fights this year of Tyron Woodley vs Robbie Lawlor, or Lawlor facing Hector Lombard are all still possible.
