The UFC returns to Australia on December 7th with the ‘UFC Fight Night 33′ card headlined by the Heavyweight tilt between Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva. Both big men are coming off long layoffs after memorable losses. Hunt is remembered for going out on his shield against Junior Dos Santos, while Silva’s last outing was a loss to Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez in less than 90 seconds. A second loss in a row for either man would likely lead to a sharp fall in the stock of both men, so it is a fight with a lot on the line.

Right now, the books have this a close fight, with Silva favored at (-180) and the comeback on Hunt at (+150). There is a case to be made for both fighters, however.
Hunt is always going to be in the fight with his punching power. He is hoping to make the takedowns hard for Silva, as he does not want to fight on the ground. Hunt took a lot of punishment against Dos Santos, culminating in the big KO and a broken jaw. Hunt will hopefully be less reliant on taking punishment to dish it out.
Silva will be bigger, and he can put a lot of pressure on Hunt in the clinches as he works for a takedown. Silva is susceptible to going down, and even flash knock downs are a risk to gfet stopped, so he has to stay away from a punching game. Silva has claimed bad stoppages in the UFC, and in his pre-UFC days as well, and some have been from flash knock downs.
On the ground, Silva can do a lot of damage, while Hunt is basically no threat. If it is on the ground, Hunt will probably be on his back, and Silva should look to end the fight there the first time he gets it to the ground.
