UFC Flyweight tItle holder Demetrious Johnson makes his first title defense this weekend on the ‘UFC on FOX 6′ broadcast.

This Saturday, January 26th, the United Center in Chicago will host the ‘UFC on FOX 6′ card headlined by the Flyweight title fight between Jon Dodson and Demetrious Johnson.  The main card is stacked as crowd pleasing Lightweights Donald Cerrone and Anthony Pettis clash, and former Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton Jackson fights what is likely his last fight with the organization against tough Brazilian Glover Teixeira.  Let’s look at where the lines sit now that we are at fight week.

Not surprisingly, the public is coming in on Glover Teixeira in his matchup with Quinton Jackson.  Jackson has been a hit and miss proposition for a long time, and all the vibe coming from him for this his last contracted fight, is a mess.  He is bad mouthing the UFC and seems to be heading into limbo.  Jackson sits at a +235 underdog, while Teixeira is favored at -295.  Look for that gap to spread, though Teixeira didn’t look as dominant in his last outing and Jackson may somehow turn this mess into motivation.

Cerrone (-110) and Pettis (-120) is a tossup, pick ‘em fight right now at the books and rightfully so.   On paper it is a barn burner, with boy guys having similar aggressive styles and attitudes.   The UFC has tried to book this match for a long time, and both men want it as well.

Demetrious Johnson is a 2 to 1 favorite (-215) with the comeback on Dodson sitting at +175.  Both men are capable of winning this fight, and it is Dodson who seems to have more finishing pop in his hands, so I look for this line to tighten up a bit before the weekend.

Popular Clay Guida is in a tough fight with Hatsu Hioki, and Heavyweights Mike Russow and Shawn Jordan clash on the undercard.  Russow stumbled in his last outing where Fabricio Werdum took him out quick, but he was a bettor’s best friend prior to that.  The complete card appears below:
