Alexander Gustafsson is favored in his upcoming UFC bout, when he fights Thiago Silva on his home turf.

The UFC on FUEL TV 2: ‘Gustafsson vs. Silva’ card scheduled for Stockholm, Sweden is a month away, and the card is loaded with European talent and worthy of a review.

Take a peek at the odds for the UFC on FUEL TV 2 card at -  http://www.betdsi.com/live-lines/martial-arts/mma-ufc.  Right now, the two main fights are available, and you can look for the odds for the other fights to start to pop up at the sportsbooks as we get closer to the event.  Alexander Gustafsson vs. Thiago Silva and Alessio Sakara vs. Brian Stann are both matches with fighters who are looking to get into the title picture in their respective weight divisions.

Gustafsson is favored in his bout over Silva, perhaps because he enjoys the home field advantage and because the kid is a winner, but I am not sure I would not go with the underdog Silva in this one when all is said and done.  Silva went the distance with Rashad Evans, and his only other loss is to Lyoto Machida, both elite former champions.   He has several quality wins, and his overall competition level is higher than Gustafsson’s.  It is hard to count the Swedish ‘Mauler’ out, but Silva is a sound pick as an underdog.

In the other announced bout, Brian Stann is an even bigger favorite over Italian slugger Alessio Sakara.  Both men are coming off losses, and Sakara has been inactive for over a year.  Even as a heavy underdog, it is hard to bet on Sakara.  Stann has the skill set to defeat Sakara, and it is hard to see the fight going any other way than a Stann victory.

Another interesting bout features veterans Damacio Page and Brad Pickett, and both are in must win situations.  Pickett, the popular Brit, is coming off a loss, while Page has dropped two in a row.  I look for Pickett to use a frenetic pace to keep it standing and pull out the win.

One undercard fighter to watch is Frenchman Francis Carmont, who is facing UFC newcomer, Swede Magnus Cedenblad.  Carmont has been around a long time, and he is a long, dangerous striker at 185 lbs.   He spent most of his career at 205 lbs, but appears to have come into his own and is on a three fight winning streak that includes a win in his UFC debut.
