UFC On FX 7 : Vitor Belfort vs Michael Bisping Prediction
Awesome UFC On FX 7 match-up coming up when Vitor Belfort (21-10) gets in the octagon against Michael Bisping (23-4). Both these fighters are top five ranked middle-weights and this should be a great match. Due to both having fought a who’s who in the MMA the odds at BetDSI Sportsbook for this fight are near a pick em with Michael Bisping being a slight favorite due to money coming in on him over Vitor Belfort.
Michael “ The Count “ Bisping went 14-0 before running into Rashad Evans where he got his first loss which came via decision. Since his loss to Evans the only other fighters to beat him were future hall of famers Dan Henderson via KO, Wanderlei Silva by decision, and stand out fighter Chael Sonnen by decision,
Since his loss to Wanderlei Silva, Bisping fought to four consecutive wins against Dan Miller, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Jorge Rivera, and Jason Miller with two of those wins coming via TKO. He then dropped a decision to Sonnen and rebounded with a win over a very tough Brian Stann via decision.
Vitor Belfort is really well known in the MMA world and has fought a legendary list of fighters. He however has never truly lived up to his potential since beating Wanderlei Silva early in his career via TKO. Most of Belfort’s big named opponents either soundly beaten him or made highlight reel’s out of him including Anderson Silva via front kick to his face in 2011.
Since his loss against Anderson Silva, Belfort won back to back matches against Yoshihirio Akiyama via KO and Anthony Johnson by submission via rear naked choke. He then went on to get a title shot at Jon Jones Light Heavyweight belt due to injuries and nobody wanting to take the fight. Belfort almost pulled off an upset of the ages when he had Jon Jones in a dangerous arm-bar in the first round, but then went on to get dominated the rest of the fight till he submitted in the fourth round due to Jones slapping on a keylock.
This match-up looks to be a number one contender bout for a shot at the middle-weight champion Anderson Silva. However due to Silva’s convincing win over Belfort their first match-up it will remain to be seen if Vitor will get another crack at him should he win against Bisping. Michael Bisping has been long due for a crack at Silva and I think due to a better all around game he will beat Belfort via unanimous decision.
