Uriah Hall has been ‘VICIOUS’ on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, but will he be in the finals?

‘The Ultimate Fighter season 17′ finale show is scheduled for the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on April 13th.  The event is headlined by ‘The California Kid’ Urijah Faber as he takes on Scott Jorgensen.  The card will also feature a ladies bout between Cat Zingano and Meisha Tate that will see the winner earn a spot on ‘The Ultimate Fighter Season 18′ coaching opposite Ronda Rousey.  A lot of the books haven’t released a line on this show, probably because the actual ‘TUF 17′ Finals bout is not decided yet.  The semi finals go down on April 9th on the show, and were announced as Josh Samman vs. Kelvin Gastelum and Dylan Andrews vs. Uriah Hall, with Hall probably being the popular choice to win it all after several explosive performances.

When it comes to the main event, the lines are out at several books, and Faber is a big -425 favorite, with the comeback on Jorgensen sitting at around +325.  Faber is trying to position himself for one last run at the UFC gold that has eluded him.  He has fallen short at both 145 and 135 lbs in his quest for a UFC title, and he looked efficient and dominant in his last outin when he made short work of Ivan Menjivar.

Jorgensen is 3-3 in his last six outings, with the three losses coming against the elite of the division (Wineland, Barao, Cruz).  Jorgensen has failed to break through against a top guy before, and Faber is one of those top guys.

The women’s bout between Meisha Tate and Cat Zingano took on a whole new level of importance when it was announced the winner would get a coaching spot on the reality show.  Tate was the first fighter to take Rousey beyond one minute when they fought a little over a year ago and she extended Rowdy Ronda through most of round 1 before she tapped to the inevitable Rousey armbar.

Zingano meanwhile, is undefeated at 7-0 in her MMA career, finishing 6 of her fights by submission or TKO.  Tate is a jump in Zingano’s level of competition, and Tate has an experience edge fighting the top fighters in the world.  Look for both of these variables to factor into what will probably turn into a classic fight.
