The MMA World has two more weeks to wait for the next UFC offering, the UFC on FOX event headlined by the Demetrious Johnson vs John Moraga Flyweight Title fight. That UFC will be the first event where the company offers two women’s fights, as they slowly ramp up their women’s divisions. For those that are looking forward to the women’s ranks growing in the UFC, this weekend features the 13 fight all women’s INVICTA 6 card, headlined by the Marloes Coenen vs Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ 145 lb title match.

It is only a matter of time before the UFC makes Invicta owner Shannon Knapp a very rich person by snapping up her company like the did the WEC, Pride and Strikeforce. After only six shows, Knapp has become the top MMA production running women’s events and they have access to all the talent not in the UFC. The shows have been excellent, and expectations are high for the 6th event.
The event will be available for very little money at the INVICTAFC.com webiste via a live stream, and the sportbooks are all ready starting to carry lines for the fights, so time to start brushing up on the ladies.
The main event has ‘Cyborg’ as much as a 12 to 1 favorite over Coenen. Do your research on Coenen and you may find some value in her as an underdog. Coenen is in her thirties and has been around a long time. At one point she was probably considered the best woman fighter in the world, but that was over 10 years ago.
‘Cyborg’ won recognition for her famous televised match with Gina carano in Strikefore, and is commonly seen as th only real potential threat to Ronda Rousey’s dominance. Whether that match ever happens is a different story, but the huge line is warranted.
It is interesting to note, especially for a gambler, that ‘Cyborg’ took Carano out in the first round, but in her first meetingwith Coenen she was extended deep into the third round before she took the Dutch woman out with punches, so Coenen has proven she can hang around with ‘Cyborg’ and she is a dangerous submission artist. Let’s say, she has a chance.
Though one or two other fights have wide lines, the card is filled with close matches that bare watching. Think of it as prep for when the UFC swallows up the whole thing.
